Gisela Gibbon works from her home studio in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England, watched over by the cutest cat in the universe, her husband delivers steaming mugs of tea. Not a bad life.
Gisela is happy to work to clients’ ideas, whether creating fixed or portable installations, small or large, from unique gift ideas to company emblems, from rockery ornaments, bowls and birdbaths to wall and floor features, from kitchen splash backs to shower cubicles to sculptures….there are really no limits with mosaics, as shown in the selection of her work examples given here.
Gisela studied under the by now legendary and undisputed present day Master of micro mosaics Saad Romany Mikhaiel in Cairo and as his first ever and only Western student was the guest of honour and part of the opening committee at his solo exhibition in Cairo Opera House.
As a NETT qualified tiler Gisela is able to install and grout her work in situ, or to make arrangements with a network of suitably qualified experienced tilers nationwide.
All mosaics can be supplied ready for fixing on a specialist mesh, on paper (reverse method), or ready applied and grouted on wedi board, marine ply, or even on furniture supplied by yourself.
Pictorial mosaics can be framed as requested. Both the direct and reverse as well as the double reverse method are used depending on requirements.
Weather and/or water proof materials as well as appropriate sealers are used where applicable.
Please get in touch about initial ideas, designs, and likely cost.
